ORGANIZATIONAL PURPOSE

The purpose “MI Poder”, a 501(c)4, is to promote social welfare, including but not limited to: strengthening the Michigan Latinx voice and the capacity for leadership to mobilize its constituency and increase participation in democratic processes; while additionally developing and advocating for legislation, regulations, and government programs to improve the Michigan Latinx community’s opportunities, growth and investment.

Nuestras familias vinieron a Michigan de todas partes de Mexico y Latinoamerica. Sacrificaron todo para que podamos vivir el sueño Americano. Muchos vinieron generaciones atrás y otros recientemente, pero siempre buscando un mejor futuro. Es hora de honrar lo que hemos logrado, sabemos lo que merecemos, acceso a atención médica, educación y protección a nuestro derecho a votar. Celebremos nuestra resiliencia colectiva abogando por el futuro que vemos posible, el que queremos construir para nosotros mismos.

MI GENTE VOTA

To be eligible to register to vote you must be: a Michigan resident (at the time you register) and a resident of your city or township for at least 30 days (when you vote), a United States citizen, at least 18 years of age (when you vote), and not currently serving a sentence in jail or prison. You can register when you are 17.5 years old, but you can’t vote until you’re 18.
